I'M GOING HOME

23 July 2005

My internship is almost done! These two months have flown by. If everything goes right, tomorrow I?ll be leaving for the Netherlands again. It?ll be extremely pleasant to see all my friends again. Never one to be homesick, I still missed them like crazy in those two months. The internship was super and I enjoyed experiencing a lot of new things. I think I?ve really grown through this, in professional and personal way. And bla, bla.

I?m also proud to say that I?ve not only managed to keep updating August dutifully, but also managed to raise the quality to a level it didn?t have before and that I?m satisfied with for now. Just for fun, browse to the first few comics in the archive. Then come back. Quite a difference, eh? In these two months we?ve explored the engines of the ship, met up with a deadly clown (and of course killed it as should be the fate of any such fiend), took a peek into the disturbing dreams of the captain, and are now caught up in a wild -wait, these events have not yet come to pass. I?ve drawn them already though, to ensure the captain?s continued appearance in the coming erratic holiday month.

I?ve also worked on some other comic projects while in my caravan. I?ve experimented with a brush, creating a 14-page horrorcomic in stark black and white about a Kraken. It?s going to be published in smallprint by friends. I don?t know if the book will be available over the internet, but I?ll keep you informed as the time comes.

So all in all, it was a good, productive two months I had!

Roderick.
