SHLUP

16 April 2005

I'm preparing cool cardboard stands for the webcomic convention Clickburg right now along with a friend. I've drawn the good captain and his trusty number one Nuch on big floppy A2 coated paper, meshed two of them together for good support and my friend is cutting them up so they're nice and pretty. As I look at them they're really turning out awesome.

It's going to be a cool day anyway, on the convention in Tilburg, the Netherlands, may 1st. The whole stand is going to be black and white, I'm dressing myself up like that as well, we'll have those cutouts, all the August originals in Bible-format, and I'm even selling my own book, Blighted Sun, which I made for Goldfish Factory with the help of some other artists. Further, I'll be drawing the whole event, possibly signing things and talking and spreading the word. And to top it all off, that sunday will see the public premiere of August the Movie! That's right! See the unseen movie on the big screen for the first time! I'm nervous how everyone (including non-August fans) will react to the movie. It's kind of text-heavy and if you're not paying attention it could be radically boring. But I don't know. Otherwise the Beethoven-soundtrack will kill off all their senses so they won't notice.

I'm a little timid about it. In a few weeks I'll be standing there between artists who pull thousands of viewers, which makes me small fry in comparison. Oh I'll just be myself and do what I think is best (even if I'm doing something completely different than the rest), but it's still an exciting thought. All positive of course. I think it'll be great.

You should come.

Roderick.
